Erin's Changing Her Mind... Shocker.

Upon posting what I wanted to wear to a wedding this year (see post) I have been leaning towards something different.  Maybe I make both??  Don't tell Hubby.

Instead, I'm thinking of a dress with a white bodice like such (without straps):

In:
Bermuda Stretch Pique White 0340706
With the skirt of the dress like this:

In:
Pimatex Basics Dots Navy DL-839
And a detached sash in:

Bermuda Stretch Pique Yellow 0340707

And to wear over it (instead of my usual cardigan - I totally don't have 14 of them..):

If I made them all separates I would get SO much wear out of all the pieces.

Wedding Guest Dress

After a boring 2014, we finally have a wedding to attend in 2015! This of course means that I have already gone dress shopping, hated everything, and decided to make my own. But what to make....

Vintage Burda Dress
I'm lusting after the above dress, but, of course, refuse to buy the pattern. I can draft my own! (maybe.) This gives me the flexibility to be confused creative in exactly what I want the dress to look like.  Here are some dresses I'm thinking of taking inspiration from:

11/2013 #108
05/2013 #125
08/2012 #133
Technically, it looks like two dresses - one that is long sleeved out of mauve lace, and an 'under dress'.  I was thinking that the 'under dress' could just be a separate dress: strapless, made of navy twill. The navy dress would certainly get a lot of wear separately.

Or say screw it all, and just make this dress in stretchy cotton sateen instead:

Sexy, yes?
